Bruno's Contracting (Thunder Bay) Limited is a heavy civil construction group with over forty years’ experience in heavy civil construction, road building, asphalt paving, materials production, and demolition. We are currently welcoming applications for a full-time Construction Foreman capable of fulfilling the following requirements:
JOB DESCRIPTION RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervise and coordinate daily site operations, including crews, subcontractors, equipment, and materials on projects of varying size and complexity.
- Plan and organize work to meet project schedules, ensuring efficient use of labour, equipment, and resources.
- Read and interpret drawings, specifications, and project documents to ensure work is completed to required standards.
- Monitor daily production, track progress, and report to project managers and senior management as required.
- Enforce company safety policies and procedures, ensuring all work is performed in a safe and compliant manner.
- Identify and resolve on-site issues, conflicts, and delays in a timely and effective manner.
- Coordinate with project managers, estimators, and clients to ensure clear communication and successful project execution.
- Train, mentor, and provide leadership to crew members to maintain a productive and positive work environment.
- Conduct site inspections to ensure quality control and adherence to specifications.
SKILLS & OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
- Strong knowledge of heavy civil construction operations, including road building, grading, and/or asphalt paving.
- Proven leadership experience supervising crews in a construction environment.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions on-site.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to workplace safety and familiarity with applicable safety regulations.
- Valid Class G driver’s license.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- 3 years of experience in heavy civil construction is required.
- Previous foreman or supervisory experience is considered a strong asset.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., health & safety training) are considered an asset.
